The Stitch Garden is a small, Melbourne-based studio creating hand-painted needlepoint canvases and thoughtfully designed patterns for slow, intentional making.

I have always loved crafting and tend to collect hobbies. Over the years I have tried everything from crochet to sewing to embroidery, always drawn to creative projects that feel calm and rewarding.

I first discovered needlepoint while travelling in Italy with my family. After losing my crochet hook, I came across a vintage Penelope printed canvas in a small craft shop in Palestrina and decided to give it a try. I loved how calming and portable it was compared to other crafts, and it quickly became something I wanted to keep doing.

When I returned to Australia, I noticed how limited the options were for needlepoint canvases. I began designing my own and creating pieces I could not find. The Stitch Garden started in April 2026 as a way to bring that idea to life, with the hope of one day growing into a physical store centred around all kinds of crafts.

My designs are inspired by whimsical, vintage-style florals and soft, timeless pieces. Each canvas is designed and hand-painted by me, with a focus on creating something that feels both beautiful and enjoyable to stitch.

Each kit is thoughtfully put together with everything you need, from the hand-painted canvas to carefully selected DMC threads and a stitch chart. This makes it easy to begin, whether you are new to needlepoint or have been stitching for years.

The Stitch Garden is designed for everyone, from beginners to experienced makers, with the aim of making needlepoint more accessible in Australia. More than anything, I want each piece to offer a calm, enjoyable experience that you can return to and take your time with.
